Getting People to Where They Are Going in Their Lives
The Desert Blind and Handicapped Association were right there for me, taking me door to door to the doctors, in the meantime I started having problems with my left eye, where I could barely see out of it........long story short, 'Desert Blind and Handicapped' was there for me all along the way, sometimes taking me to the doctors 3 times a week, They 'never ever' turned me away.........even on days when I would have my 'little self pity party' just hearing Linda's voice would bring me out of it, what an inspiration she is to all of us.
Desert Blind has been an invaluable service for me. I use them to get to work, and to go shopping. The drivers are always reliable, courteous, and on time.Having a disability doesn’t mean that we have to sit at home and wait for someone to take care of our needs, as we are perfectly capable of doing that for ourselves. Desert Blind enables us to remain independent with dignity.I hope that there will always be funding for this very necessary service. No one knows how difficult it can be without reliable transportation until it becomes a personal situation.May God bless Desert Blind with the resources needed to continue the wonderful work that is done by them.
The Desert Blind and Handicapped Association has been a wonderful blessing in my life. The drivers have always been kind. They have helped me by coming to my door and carrying groceries into my house. They have taken me to medical appointments, grocery stores, libraries, on shopping sprees and to lunch with friends. Because they provide these vital services for very low or no fees, they have made it possible for me to live a functional life.
